The Freedom School of Painting began as a program of private art classes for practising and aspiring artists seeking to benefit from the extensive experience and success of multi award winning, internationally exhibited artist David Giles. As participants gained success in exhibiting and winning awards it grew to become a highly coveted professional development and mentoring program with seven award winning artists now in the program. The program normally has a mix of complete beginners through to highly experienced exhibiting artists and is suitable for all levels of experience.

2012 PROGRAM

The 2012 Professional Development Program. will run over four terms during 2012. Each term will include eight weeks of studio practice as a group, including demonstrations, discussions and weekly peer reviews. The theme for 2012 will be "Creating the worked surface." A variety of approaches techniques, concepts and artists will be discussed in relation to this theme. Each session will begin with a talk and demonstration by David Giles and conclude with a supportive critical review.

The group studio practice will take place at The David Giles Art Studios Fremantle Studio 49b High St Fremantle

Choice of times Thursday 10-1 or 1.30-4.30 or Friday 10-1 or Friday 1.30-4.30 or Saturday 10am -1pm or Saturday 1.30pm -4.30pm. Classes are full for term 2. Bookings now invited for term 3 which commences 26/27/28 July.

Cost for this great opportunity: $275 inc GST per 8 week term (art materials not included). In 2013 fees will increase to $330 inc GST per 8 week term.

Non refundable full payment of fees is required to book a place.

On completion of the twelve month program, participants will receive a certificate of participation and a $1000 voucher that can be used for up to 50% off the price of any original David Giles painting.  The voucher is valid from the end of term 4 until 31 December of the year of participation. Vouchers will be given on pro rata basis to participants enrolled in 1,2 or 3 terms.
